HELLO!
My name is Kelly Chen and I am a Bioengineering undergraduate student at the University of Washington with an interest in medicine and healthcare. In my free time, I enjoy golfing, playing badminton, and traveling.

All the work I do, my attitude and my experiences, stems from gratitude, my passions, and my goals. As an older sister and daughter of immigrants, I am grateful for the opportunities that I have and earned as I strive to be a role model and leader. As a leader, I value integrity and collaboration in which I can lead with meaning and help others while learning something new with each experience. The ability to set goals and slowly turning them into reality one step at a time is one of my biggest motivators towards stability, excellence, and success.

As someone who is a passionate learner, a woman of color, and an aspiring physician, I value caring for and giving back to my community. With my ambitions and goals in life, I am always seeking to grow, experience, and find new opportunities in which I hope to share these opportunities with others!

Health Advocator
As someone who is pursuing a career in healthcare, it is important to be an advocate for everyone, especially for one’s health. Not only was I an active advocator in the senior living facility, but am also one for myself, my family, and peers since staying healthy is the key to happiness.
Flexible Adaptor
Through the COVID-19 pandemic, there was much change that occurred. Personally, the biggest change was the abrupt move back home and transition to online classes. In interest for myself and my family’s safety, I adapted well to the move and focused on the positives despite the pandemic.
International Explorer
As someone who loves to travel and seek new experiences, I am all for taking the time to learn about other countries’ traditions and cultures, to completely immerse myself in their lifestyles and to understand their community.
Supportive Mentor
As someone who hosts 1:1 mentoring and establishes meaningful relationships, I am an active listener who is supportive of others’ ideas and ambitions. I do my best in providing resources, networks, or advice to better assist mentees in their growth.
